Alrighty....Adam and I finally got some time to hangout, so we went for a hike! We hiked for 6 straight hours, 3 miles into a 7 mile hike. Wowza....6 miles was enough, I can't imagine 14 miles. The trail leads to a lake, sometime we would like to backpack and camp at the lake for a weekend. We saw wildlife! 1 massive bull moose, shedding his velvet! 2 cows. 1 cow and her baby! Oh my goodness was her baby big! It was obviously a male and soon to out grow her! (check out the picture of their rumps...he's getting tall!) A rabbit managed to scare the crap outta us....rustling the weeds! We saw 2 ptarmigan, a heard of dall sheep, 5 moose, and a couple piles of bear poo. Oh--and the raspberries were still out....YUM! We needed a lil snack on the hike!
The kitties have made a friend--our neighbor cat likes to sit on top of the fence outside our kitchen window, Snickers really enjoyed it, WITH a window in between!
I started substituting on Monday! Almost one week down....I miss the little ones, but 3rd graders aren't too bad! ...more on this later
Kevin and Jeanette will get here tomorrow! We are headed to Valdez for the long weekend, camping and fishing! We rented a camper from the base rec. center. I'm sure we'll have plenty of stories and pictures to put up when we get back. We are all SOOOOO excited! The weather was GORGEOUS today and is suppose to be even "hotter" tomorrow! Weather looks great in Valdez for the whole weekend!
