Brinkmeyer visit

The Brinkmeyers... Jenny and Nathan were up for a visit. (Jenny was my roomie in college for 4 years). We had a great time, although it went very fast! We already have the next trip's events planned! :)Hiked Flat Top the first day, had great weather!
We had a jumping photo session-- lasted about 20 minutes! :)

What a goof!

On our way down to Soldotna, the dall sheep were hanging out low on the side of a mountain-- great photo op!

Jen and I getting ready for salmon fishing... we LOVE the waders!
Hanging out by the camp fire--- this photo took quite a "few" tries... the smoke kept blowing in front of the camera at just the right moment to ruin the pic!
The boys cleaning the salmon-- Great Job!
Nathan on his first, ever salmon. Adam helping out with the net!
Jenny... the fire master! :)
At the top of a cliff, looking for eagles, with bear poo-poo all around-- FUN! You can see Adam at the top right corner checking out the view.
Only in Alaska... Get that toddler across the stream!!! Daddy was on the other side fishing!
Now the "fun" part. Vacuum sealing the salmon for freezing.
Angel checking it out.. look at all that fish! I believe it was a count of 15(?) for the weekend.
Just driving through the bottom of a mountain. This is Whittier tunnel... which you use to get to Whittier, Alaska.
Inside the tunnel... Indiana Jones style!
We saw these sea lions on our glacier/wildlife tour!
GORGEOUS!
Comin up on a glacier!
A bunch of sea otters. A large group of them has a special name, but I forgot what it is called!
A fuzzball baby sea otter floating on his mama's belly!
Feelin patriotic, 2 glaciers in the background

Just one of the 26 glaciers we saw that day. This one was "active"... we got to hear and watch a part of it crumble off!
A cruise ship in comparision to the itty-bitty village of Whittier. It is tucked in the base of a couple mountains with ocean on the opposite side. The tall building stickin up is where all of the Whittier residents live... no houses there!
The famous Humpys... YUMMY YUMMY food and drinks! Where "Man vs. Food" was at.
FINALLY... a moose on their last day! This lil bull was just munching and didn't mind us taking pictures!
OH but WAIT... less than a block down the road we came across a mama and baby! The path is splitting them, thank goodness a biker could see the situation and chose an alternate route. Although this mama was preeeetty chill!!
I KNOW, I KNOW... I have a million moose pictures, but I just can't stop. They are so darn cute!
One of my favorite places in Anchorage, the rock beach at Kincaid park.
Last meal in Alaska... grilled chicken and KING CRAB!!! It was delicious and we were literally shoving it in our mouths as we went out the door to get the Brinks to the airport on time!
This was one nasty crab claw, we don't have a cracker, so we just get aggressive with it. This one sliced me open in three different spots!...But I won the battle and sucked it clean of meat!

The Harris' are now here for a couple weeks. We've had some pretty crappy weather-- rainy and cold, but are making the best of it. We went camping/fishing over the weekend and had A BLAST!!! It was soooooooooooo much fun, we had so much action on the Kenai river. More to come on the next post!

This video is of falling ice coming off the glacier, the sound was unbelievable, but it was so windy it is hard to hear on the video. Plus a crazy mom wouldn't stop talking/yelling!

I forgot what kind of birds these are... their habitat on the rock is called a rookery (I think). I don't remember much of this because I'm not that fond of birds. I'm surprised we didn't get pooped on!

Grant and Jessi's wedding was unbelievable and absolutely perfect! I didn't take many photos of the wedding night because they had an awesome photographer who was taking some great pictures... and lots of them!Beautiful!!

Hangin out at the villa

Playin cribbage....... teaching Dad

awww! Mom and Dad being cute!

So those were just a FEW of my pics and a lil peek at our experience in Sanibel. The shelling was amazing, as always--- I came home with more shells than I need, but they are all so perfect! We actually dumped an entire gallon baggy full of shells on the beach that were not keepers/wouldn't fit in our containers. The people swarmed them like vultures! One of the best shelling places in the world.... especially when you're experts like the Harris family.
