Icefishing, sledding, snowboarding, and hoar frost

Hey yo peeps!!  I have been frustrated trying to get these photos to upload, so the text will be brief.
This is the $9 icecream concoction our neighbor girl made at Avalanche Icecream when I took her there after some tutoring sessions.  She is in first grade, so I get my "first grade-fix" :)  She ADORES Adam, so our brain breaks involve freeze dance and hide-n-seek with him and Tundy.
Another joy of living in our culdesac full of munchkins.... a random sock that was left in our yard!  The owner of this sock has been earning money by going to the neighbors and getting paid $2.50 for shoveling the stairs!  He then brings over the cool things he bought with the money to show us! :)
Right in our backyard-- Eagle River

Since we went FORRRRRRREVER without fresh snow, Adam, Tundy, and I had a sledding adventure one Sunday.  A video will be posted at the end of this blog as soon as I can get it to cooperate and upload!  SLEDDING.... ALASKA STYLE!

Waiting for Adam at the bottom of the "first run"
"C'mon Dad, what's taking so long?!!?"

We had quite a few cold, clear nights and these photos are the result.  These beautiful, growing crystals are called hoar frost.

When Tundra or I would bump a weed, you could hear the frost falling like glass.  So cool!

This was a chunk of ice that was pulled from a hole in the river
Another sledding trip to the same spot--our original paths were still there.  It was too dangerous to sled
More icefishing!  12 lakers and 4 burbot in one day!
Can you tell he is a happy dog?  Spoiled and smiling! :)
This photo was taken specifically for Adam's dad, white-grub twister tales even work in the Alaska ice!
I brought my skiis this weekend.... but as you can tell, the lake had the conditions for ice skating instead!

A lil burbot-- I was saying, "its so cute!"  This picture shows the fins on top/bottom.  We call it an eel fish
 Denali showed itself
Gorgeous view from our bed and breakfast
Our lil family........ Angel passed on this weekend trip! ;)
 This is our sunbathing!

We FINALLY got a little snow, just in time for our friend's birthday weekend at Alyeska resort.  Adam checking out the Turnagain Arm

Always good times!

AND NOOOOOWWWW--- on to the videos!

Sledding--- Alaska style!  Adam made a lil ramp for me!

An example of fishing from holes in our hut with poles

And an example of using tip-ups in the holes outside

PEACE LOVE HAPPINESS to you all!  May the midwest have some much needed spring weather!
